Hi guys,
I have been thinking of upgrading my lighting for quite some time now. I am currently running 3 radion gen 3, and 3 vipar spectras with pretty good success but feel like it could be better. I am currently thinking of getting 2 oprhek Atlantic v4s. Does any one have first had reviews on these? They will be used to grow sps in a 30inch deep tank. If you have any other suggestions for lighting in a similar price range that would be appreciated as well.
TIA

I love my Bars. Ive used pretty much every generation of those, the ones with the Major UV Bulb issues are on the OR1s. I also thinks that carries over to the early editions of the standard orphek lights. I haven't seen much of a problem lately. Just the issue of making them fast enough to meet demand. Lol

Did you notice an improvement in your coral when you started using the bar? I have also thought about just buying bars to supplement the lighting.

Absolutely, they are powerful lights. 3w a diode in the older ones, I believe they're now up to 5w/ea. PAR meter coming soon.

On the Atlantic gen 4 have it not been any UV issues but I think we run them low just because not to cause any issues with them. @Sallstrom can answer that question better. However the bars of generation 1 have not worked well. In the bars after gen 1 they have lowered the amperage from 550 mA to 450 mA - hopefully they will work better.

I run my tank with GHL mitras bar 2 for 2.5 years. Have one minor issue with on module in one of the bars. That issue only affect one of 11 modules in that bar and only the RGB leds in that module. These bars combine the light pattern between T5 tubes and LED fixtures very well

Sincerely Lasse
