Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a reliable source of par readings for the Orphek Atlantik v4 Compact. I know BRS did PAR readings for the standard light, but I can't afford a PAR meter (nor do I know anyone who ones one), and want to dial in my par to the best of my ability. Does anyone know of any readings/anyone who could get readings??

If you don't get any specific numbers from someone, I think you could use BRS #s as a guideline and adjust based on the # of LED diodes for the smaller fixture (42 versus 78 five watt LEDs, so approximately 55% par of the larger unit would be my guesstimate). As a reminder, there are so many factors that will influence par #s including what intensity setting each color channel is set at, mounting height, the size of the aquarium the measurements were taken in, and even if the aquarium had rock / substrate in it will impact results somewhat.

To my knowledge they use the exact same LEDs In each fixture. So the par readings between the two will be the exact same. The major difference would be the spread of the light itself. You should be able to go off of BRS' video and just adjust the coverage of the light, obviously this is assuming you mount your light at a similar height and your tank is roughly the same depth as the one they tested.... And as mentioned above, rock structures and even whether you have sand or not can also effect the numbers.
