Warning to those using these light mounts. These were on my rimless frag tank for 3-6 months and are corroding heavily at the edges and the finish is disintegrating into the tank. Maybe this is why some of my SPS and montis have been unhappy with seemingly no other cause lately.
Very bummed that another aquarium manufacturer releases a product for use in the marine environment, that clearly was NOT designed for use in the marine environment or tested for this use.
Anyhow, warning to others using these mounts. I'd find another way to hang your lights, metals in the tank is no bueno.
See in these pics, significant amounts of metal missing (they were pristine when put on the tank) and on the plastic piece you can see the finish of the metal rubbing off and melting away (I swiped it with a paper towel to show it coming off).
Ditching these things for my high-tech temporary solution until I can get a better hanging system in place.
