Orphek OR Series Light Bars

I'm looking for 300 PAR below the light about 4” below the surface. Mounting height will be as needes. Since I'll be covering the full length of the tank, I was thinking of having them closer to the back so I could have lower PAR for LPS and deep water corals up front. I feel like two bars of 36 3-watt LEDs each will be sufficient, especially when the LEDs are all running at 100%.

So I'm confused about the UV it doesn't show 380 leds but it states it goes down that low. I have the Atlantik V4 and I'd love to add a bar of 380 UV as a moonlight effect to just get pure florescence as channel 3 on the atlantik is still a little more in the violet spectrum

I think my only suggestion in the V4 would have been to make the 4 380 UV leds their own channel

Above in this thread, @Orphek has said they have 385nm and 400nm available. Very interesting that these weren't included in the UV/Violet bar but I guess the LEDs are identified by their peak and the bar is based on the range. You could probably order an all 385nm bar.

We offer 385nm ,400nm , 410nm ,420nm,430nm,440nm,450nm,460nm,470nm, 490nm, 500nm, 520nm - this renders a very wide blue light spectrum.

Are all of these wavelengths available in the OR bar? If so I need to reexamine my custom spectrum since I originally rounded several Atlantik LEDs to the 460nm. New spectrum:

12000K x5, 660nm x2, 595nm x1, 520nm x2, 500nm x2, 470nm x4, 460nm x9, 440nm x1, 430nm x2, 420nm x3, 410nm x3, 385nm x2. I feel better about this combination getting a wider range from 470nm all the way down to 385nm rather than so many 460nm in my original combination.

Just received my daylight 36" Lightbar with 90 degree lens. The 60 degree would be more PAR, 120 degrees less. Running the light about 4" off the water on a AquaMax 12G frag tank with 10" height. A quick test with my Seneye showed 350 - 450 PAR at the surface, it varied depending on the LED color temperature. I think I had 200 PAR at the frag. Those are loose numbers, I just wanted to make sure my 3 frags weren't getting cooked. If time permits, I might do more testing.

Not sure your goal on PAR, but 24" makes me wonder. If you were using T5, you'd use quite a few bulbs.

I have a frag tank with 11” of water in it with a reef daylight bar as well! I would love to hear about more par tests with your setup since it is so similar to mine!

This Aquarium is with 1x Or120 reef day light and 1xOR 120 reef UV / Violet. The spectrum shift to violet and not to blue as most of the reef aquarium.

How much are one of these lights for my 125 gallon fish only tank and can it sit on top of my glass lids?

I just received a 48" reef daylight bar and a few quick things I wanted to share with you all:

1. I have kessils so I am pretty spoiled when it comes to essentially zero color separation - due to the configuration of these lights with the LED's so far apart there is a ton, I mean ton, of color separation from these lights. I'm pretty sure I can pick out each color led under my rock work.

2. The reef daylight is super super white - I would recommend going with something more blue if you prefer bluer tanks like I do.

3. The spread is surprisingly impressive and the punch is also quite good from a light bar. I'm pretty sure the 48inch bar is comparable in brightness to a 360we (no numbers to back this up just an observation).

4. I dealt with James from Orphek and he was a delight to deal with and super super helpful, they give you a choice of lenses for the light and the build quality is great.

5. Mine took about 4 weeks to receive from invoice to delivery.

Overall I'm very pleased with the light bar, my only complaint (which is not Orphek's fault - it is mine) is that I went with reef daylight instead of a more blue spectrum. The color separation I expected due to the configuration, but still a great light for an even better price. Honestly, the customer service I received from Orphek was an absolute pleasure and I wish other companies were as helpful and friendly as them.

Are you cosindsting adding a blue or uv bar with it to get the color effect you want ?

I'm highly considering the blue bar and putting the daylight bar over my frag tank. I also have a whole lot less surface water movement on my frag tank compared to my display so the color separation will be a whole lot better.

I'll post a pic of how I mounted mine tomorrow, just used 1/2" conduit to hang it above the tank. Simple and cheap.

I sent the money for my or120 on 6/13 and the fixture arrived today. What’s even more impressive is the fact I was giving the fedex tracking on 6/22 and it arrived on 6/25. Unreal how fast it was built and delivered from Hong Kong. After testing the unit I’m really thinking about replacing my current 6 bulb t5 with these. I bought the uv to add some pop and now am looking at how many I would need to replace 6 t5s and what color combo to go with.

I do wish they made a 60". Going to try one then possibly order more.
Took a Sky Blue and added some 12k to it trying to supplement my main LED to cut down on shading.

Just placed an order for sky blue last Thursday. Excited to add onto T5 with 4 bulbs; 3 ATI Blue plus & 1 ATI Purple. Is anyone seeing a good shimmer for these? I'm thinking I might end up switching to an array of these over T5 after I see the performance.

Depending on what lights you are basing shimmer off you may or may not be disappointed. The sky blue has a lot of similar wavelength led's so the color separation shouldn't be that bad but even still the shimmer will be nothing compared to a dense matrix LED. I certainly don't think you will get a discoball effect with the sky blue just not the characteristic shimmer of a kessil for example. I think you will be pleased with it, they are great and put out a ton of light.

I have the atlantik v4 and you get some shimmer but nothing close to a kessil. Orphek also recommends mounting it high which eliminates the disco ball effect

I'm thinking of using two Orphek RO60 fixtures instead of T5s as supplemental lights to my Kessil AP700 on a 60 gallon cube. What do you guys think? Is that a good idea, or should I look to T5 instead?

Got mine in today. Very nice. A little less blue than I thought it would be ( I mixed some 12k in with a Sky Blue) but I can mix more from my main light. I think mixing strips of different K like you do with T5 would be nice. Has anyone got the 120 degree lenses? Orphek said they were for freshwater and recommended 90 degree.
