I don't think Orpheks produce this UV/VIOLET light bar anymore,at least they don't seem available in the UK anymore. Does anybody run one if so how do you rate them for supliment coral colour/ fluorescence and what other lights do you run them with? Anything else you can add?
Thanks.

They will make you one no problem just send them an email. Sorry cant answer the questions on it's performance as I only have Blue Plus and Reef Day

I have one UV, combined with one Blue Plus and two Reef Brite actinics and experienced increased growth and pop over my old two bulb T5 mixed with the Reef Brites.

My sole purpose of adding such a light would be to add that bit extra colour to the AB+ schedule nothing else really purely cosmetic if you like but there could be other benefits to the SPS corals of course.
Here are 2 layouts of 36x3w LEDs. I have used small squares to indicate each emitter.
Yellow = 430-440nm
Pink = 410-420nm.

Are you by chance stuck indoors?

I have one uv or2 bar. Three blue plus bars and two 250w radiums. I have not noticed a difference in the corals colors but it does make the tank a really blue/purple and seems to make the greens glow really crazy when on.
Maybe some led users can see improvement with this bar but I doubt it’s doing much more than my radium bulbs. I kinda wish I got 4 blue plus instead but I am going to continue to run it for a year to see how things look later.

Please guys if you can comment on my 2 proposed LED NMs and layout.
I don't see any problems with your proposed spectrum. Good for photosynthesis, good for many, if not most, fluorescent proteins.

Thanks Dana, I posted 2 arrays I am considering in my post above. Which of the 2 do you think will give me the best/ strongest colour giving I am running AB+ on my Orphek Atlantiks please?
Thank you.

There is very little difference between your 2 patterns..

What "color" do you think you are missing?

Nope. Am talking a light bar aimed around the UV/ violet/deep blue range, using just the 2 types of emitters mentioned not an Atlantik v4 multi colour emitter light.

you mis-understood my question..

Was wondering WHAT YOUR Orphek was set at.
W/ the above it "may" help determine what might be addative..
Now as to color.. Color of flourescent pigments, color of non-flour pigments, overall color of tank, production of various pigments ect..

Which???

There is very little difference between your 2 patterns..

One of your bars:

Your Atlantik settings don't seem to be very AB+-like. I have mine set (at peak) to:
CH1:45
CH2:90
CH3:80
CH4:25

And that seems to be as close to my old radion AB+ setting.

Channel 3 is super UV strong so having it at the lowest of the 4 like you do won't give you much UV pop

the blue with smooth out the ab+, the violet will definitely give you a pop.but so will the blue. I have both

Your right, my Radions were AB+
My settings are a copy of a friends. I will do a little tweaking before deciding anything. Thanks for that.
