Wanting feedback from people who use this unit. Currently run T5's on a 125 gallon mixed reef. Thinking of 2 of these units but replacing the uv and 2 - 4 whites as I prefer a bluer look rather than crisp white.

Thanks to those for your input wrt my upcoming purchase.

I would chime in here but I think I may be a little biased. You'll find that the PR-72 gives a great mix of color and growth in it's native format.

You will need three of them for the 125 gallon tank.

Let me know what other questions you have and I will be more than happy to answer them.

I did alot of research on leds before going with Orphec. I have a 100 gallon tank and i went with two pr-156w leds. They are awesome. They have no gimicky features only what is needed to grow corals. Switched from halides and so far my corals are loving them. Check them out.

Mike007 how long have you be using your Orphec lights?what type of corals do you have in your tank?how have they grown since you had Orphec over your tank? do you just use Orphec lighting with not t5 or mh?i have been thinking about buying so for my tank.

I have only had them for a month . I have noticed that my corals are opening more than when they were on halides. I am acclimating them to new light so it will take some time to see results. After doing lots of research these are one of the best led out there. I have mixed corals and hope to grow some of the hard to grow corals in the future.

Thanks Mike007 i can't wait to here some updates. Pierre did you buy
PR-72?if so what do you think about them so far?

No I decided against them, reason being that I cannot find any other users to get comment about them. Was hoping that a fellow reefer had used them for at least 6 months and would give feedback.

In South Africa there is nobody using them. They are fairly well prices.

For now I am going to hold onto my t5 unit that I have had for about 3 years.

Thanks for the feedback.

Go to their website and you will get reviews ,test results etc. on all of their lights. Also you tube has some reviews by users.

i have been on their website it has a lot of info and i watch all the you tube videos.like Pierre i was hoping to hear form some people that had them for couple months to a year and see with they had to say about them.

I have been to the website, all links are from Orphek, I am looking for info from users on actual fish forums. There site is not independent.

Please only leave feedback if you have had personal experience. Thanks. :)

I've been using Orphek for a while now...coming up on a year now...I've got one DIF50XP running on my 30g and I've seen nothing but great results...all my corals growth have exploded, they look amazing. As it was said before...there's no gimmicks with these lights...they make powerful lights with great color and shimmer, I've never been happier with my lighting since I switched to Orphek. I hope this helps.

I'm currently using a PR-72 on my personal reef tank. They're too new for anyone to have a long term opinion but so far I'm impressed with the unit. Great color, measurable growth in the past almost two months since I installed it.

In the interest of full disclosure I am a custom aquarium business and we do sell Orphek products. That said, Orphek is the only LED company that we use in our installs (including several public aquarium installations). We mostly use Orphek because if we need a custom unit for a specific build they're not only capable but always there to help us get what we need. Try finding another company that will work with you like that.
