Anyone know if its possible to connect a wireless adapter to the gateway for the Orphek Lighting system and use it like you can with Apex?

Contemplating pulling the trigger on 2 of the v4 Atlantik fixtures but want to make sure I won't have to have a hard line ethernet line considering we use wifi with no hardline in the house.

Anyone know by chance?

I also posted in the Orphek Sponsor area to see if it's possible. If someone doesn't know for sure I'll email tomorrow for sure.

@AZRipp how do you like them since you own 4? Would definitely like some feedback outside the companies that sell them.

How's the programmability and ease of use?

I've owned radions but Orphek seems like a different horse altogether.

Thinking about 2 v4 g2s and 4 or60 violet/uv bars. Basically having the a bar on each side of each light for extra pop + uv

I've found them nice and the coral respond well. I'm not overly fond of the app. To me it's very illogically setup, however those of us that own them have adapted to the oddities of certain aspects. There is definitely a learning curve. They don't offer presets, other than maybe the Acclimation mode, that I found useful. Everyones tank is different though, so YMMV. I did have an LED die within the first 6 months of ownership but they sent me a replacement stat. I just looked at the owner's manual of the Gateway 2 and I'm thinking you may not be able to do what you're hoping. They show connecting the Gateway to a repeater if you can't directly connect it to your wireless router. All the same, I would confirm with Orphek.

Are you asking if the gateway can be wireless? if so yes (on the latest gateway), I believe when setting it up your need to hardwire the gateway until setup is done and you can change it to wifi mode. I've had a set of v4 for about 1.5 years now, love the light, great colors and great growth! I have owned radions, ATI hybrid, Kessils and other led setups. Orphek coverage and spectrum is by far my favorite so far. Now about the app, it's different, it's prob the least favorite thing about these lights, but once you get the hang of it, it's ok.

That's awesome news about the gateway. That was exactly what I was asking in a nutshell.

I've also used Kessil, radions and even AI and have never been overly enthused about the coverage or spectrum. I'm glad to hear such great reviews of them. Think that's the direction I'm going to be going next!

Great! Just a tip these lights are meant to be hung a bit higher than the other LEDs, took me awhile to realized that, I have them hung about 16 " above water line anywhere between 14-18" will work just depends on the spread u need

Yeah, I was researching them and found some information on that. I hang the reefbreeders v1 48" led about that high above my 180 now just to get a decent spread at 6' (who knew). My plan is to get 2 of the full size fixtures and hang them about 14" above the water surface, spaced out evenly and sort out the settings and intensity from there. I've also contemplated getting 2 of the Orphek 36" Violet/UV bars to span the 6' length of the tank in back of the 2 fixture and 2 of the Blue Plus bars for the back. Basically use the bars for extra pop. I figure I'll have to take the bars into account when it comes to setting up the lights also so I don't end up with too much par and burn everything but beyond the pop and look the bars give I figure they'll let me use the fixtures themselves at a lower intensity also.

i put my gateway on another floor near the router, it reaches my fixture just fine. So dont worry about putting your gateway right beside the unit, maybe dont need a bridge?

Same here. gateways upstairs with my router. No issues connecting.

I can’t ever connect to the gateway and it’s 25 feet away no walls.
I haven’t logged into my lights in a week I gave up v4 useless kinda irritating the functions of control is basically useless.

I just got rid of my V3 seeing I read the issue was fixed kinda kicking myself now for not going with Radios I had hopes for these but the app and control is for the birds. I honestly don’t even know Wea they are set at this point all looks like the same settings but who really knows.

Anyone know why these work for a week then not for 2 and off and on? Noting changes on my end no password on my router nor is it locked have Verizon Fios and a eero so service is strong in every room.
