Hi.
Can the orphek users tell their experience on an sps tank? If you can show pictures of the corals would be great.

Considering to buy one orphek v4.

Thank you.

2 months growth gigas, bit less than 3 months acro. All under orphek v4.

I have been testing an orphek v4 2 on my display and I will say this. The fixture is beautiful. The PAR readings are off the chart if you have the panel close to the water. SPS colors under the fixture are amazing. \ There is some disco effect, shimmer is good. I"m switching my display over to all Orphek now and see how it goes. The flourscent pop they give corals and fish is what sold me.

How long have you been running it? Using the default program? Any pics of your corals under it? :D

appreciate it!

How many are you using as well? A lot of the photos on their site are almost wall-to-wall light fixtures - which I'm sure is great - but $$$$

I have had it over my display for a couple months. I have 5 ghl mitras over main display. I took the 5th one off and replaced with the orphek.

Its night and day in coral color. The floursecents are the bomb. I get better coral color than i had before. Now that being said. I had excellent color with ghl's but the orpheks have raised the bar.

For instance. My colony of pink cadelliac is a beatiful specimen. Kind of brown with blue purple polpys to light brown on tips. Under the orpheks on a frag. The same piece has green base. Tips get yellow in them and body gets some purple. Huge difference.

The colony is on the other side of aquarium so pre and post for colonies will have to wait till i replace entire aquarium. I have one colony in this area that i dont think looks different, but i think its just because i think i was already getn full potential out of it.

Fish are amazing under the light too. When they come from one side to under the orphek....you can see allot more color.

Im using the coral color program scaled down 50% because the default was giving me 900par at the corals about 12 inches below surface. Once i scaled it down 50% is when i started to get the amazing colors. First time i started using power meter and im sold. Didnt want to use the trail and adjust method since i was testing the light and needed to k ow quickly what it could do.

Well my aquarium is 72" x 27" from top view. Since im testing om only using one. I had 5 ghl mitras on aquarium and i replaced 5th front to back beside 4 ghl's. I have fixture like 7" from surface of water. The light is super over kill the way im using it right now. There is light spill.

Im going to run two v4s with a v4 compact in middle horizontally. I could probably do with the compact but i want even light. These guys are powerful.

Then im going to make custom rack and put a 150 bar in front and back. So i think this will.be best for me. You could probably just do 2 v4's up high enough and that would be suffice.

How easy is it to clean the fans? My radions you have to take all apart to get at the fans to clean them out - and of course they're on the bottom vs the top like the Orphek's - but do they get stuff in them still? Any maintenance that needs to happen?

I run two V4s and two strips on my 210. I’ve had some problems with my lights, but when they work, I love them. Orphek has been good about fixing my issues.

Anyway, I grew out my whole tank from frags under these lights.

Impressive corals for sure! What program are you running and how long?
@SeaDweller runs V4s I believe and has impressive results with them, I'm considering V4 +t5 for my next tank
I think he runs photons.

I run 3 and 2 or bars on my tank. Does a good job, colours see good to me though i like my t5 lit grow out tank better. I run really high par though, if I reduce it I rekon i could get better colour

I know im late to the party but holy cow these lights are so good. Decided to upgrade from my radion G4's on my new build. Ive had them on the tank about a week, but my corals appear to be responding really well with them. The optics from this light remind me of Metal halide.
