I got a V4, not really concerned about the size and weight at the time. Thought getting a bracket would be easy and I was wrong. Long story short, I can’t drill to the ceiling so must be mounted on tank. I found Orphek has the mounting arms but I’m worried about the weight and pressure on the tank. I have a RS peninsula 500. The glass is 20mm thick. I have never had a light fixture of this size before. And it is heavy

Does anyone have experience or thoughts?

Correction: the P500 glass is 15mm thick (5/8”) not 20.

I haven’t used these but hear they hold well.
My tank has canopy and I have bars going across to support my Atlantik units.
You can make a waterproof hanger utilizing 1” pvc and elbows and would be strong enough to form a hanger and base to support the light

you can build something simple out of electrical conduit and attach it to the stand, make your bends at the hd/Lowe’s so you don’t have to buy a bender. Steel conduit will be strong enough to hold up an orphek.

Could build something from 80/20,
I used one of these universal mounts to mount 3 OR3s on my 30” long 29g. The reason tank is rimmed but it holds beautifully

The Orphek mount*

I second the conduit method. I have also heard the radion mount works but I don’t know anything else about that.

corey

I have my orphek Atlantik g4 mounted using their tank mounts on my reefer 250 with 12mm glass and I'm not worried at all. Their mount distributes the weight nicely.

Hy, are you satisfied with your Orphek on 250 reefer? I also have a 250 reefer and I‘m looking for lights now..it is gonna by between 1 x Orphek V4 Gen 2 and 2x Radion XR 15 Pro...

Yes, I like it much better than the XR15s, which I once had. Less disco, better coverage, less shading and a biggie for me is far, far less side glaring. Since my tank is in my family room, I had to rig up shades to block the glare from the XR15s. The Orphek doesn't do that. The phone app is pretty sucky, but I don't mess with it much anyway once I got it set up the way I wanted.

Another consideration I had was the Reefi Unos, which are nicely priced. No experience with them though since they're just coming out in a month or so.

How did you mount them ? Do you have SPS also ?
