Looks like I have a band sensor after I do not know how many years.

All I get is a green light, if I power off and pump kicks on briefly it all seems to work/. I remove sensor from water stays green. I did clean the sensor no go. It is soaking in vinegar right now

if that does not work how do I get a new sensor?

Thanks

Jim

How old is the Osmolator, ball park? Generally before 2009 cannot be repaired, before 2011 is iffy, with this age you start getting into incompatibility and other issues. Before 2015 the optic sensor would have to be soldered. Canada and the US have separate repair and distribution, I can send a part to Canada easy enough, but in general when an optic sensor is replaced the controller should be recalibrated to the new sensor. This is especially true on older units, as in the earlier days, the sensors varied more and the signal quality is generally higher and more consistent now.

I do not know how old this is i bought the whole tank setup from a friend.. I have had it for about 3 years, not sure how long he had it before. I know the stuff is soldered to the board

Any easy way to tell the age of this unit?

Units made since 2012 have a silver sticker on the back, that sticker has a 6 digit date code on it, year and month. Older units have some sticker inside the housing, these varied over the years, the oldest ones resemble a price tag behind the circuit board that looked like a price tag, in between was a sticker that was coded with week of production and year. I can probably get pretty close by a photo of the circuit board.
