I have lost some confidence in my osmolatar and it's my own fault. I had programmed the apex to shut it off
IF Salt <34 Then Off
This worked fine for a long time and I had completely forgot about it. Then I bought new calibration fluid for my refractometer and it was different than my old fluid. I decided to go with the new. The Salt probe had been reading about 34.4 but this dropped it to below 34.
Thats when the alarm started on the osmolator. I couldn't figure out why it kept tripping the float switch finally unplugged it after a couple of days. Then I just happened to look at the output and remembered the code I had added.
Apparently when salt dipped below 34 it was coming on and off repeatedly with the salinity.
So today after removing the code I will monitor it. Still turning it off at night until my confidence is restored. I may add the code back and set it for 33 instead of 34. Plus I need to re-calibrate that probe
