I just received a Trigger Systems Triton ATO reservoir. There is a sliding door to allow for pumps, cord, tubing to pass through the top of the tank. There is also a john guest type quick disconnect bulk head in the top. Is it possible to plumb the water line from the Osmolator pump using this fitting? Has anyone ever attempted this or have any advice? Not sure of the exact purpose of this fitting.

The osmolator hose has an OD of 7mm, the fitting is likely 1/4" which is about 6.25mm, it will fit if you force it, but will border on impossible to remove.

Thank you for the insight. Any adapters available to convert the Tunze pump to 1/4” RO tubing?

It wouldn't be impossible to make one, but I don't know of any that are commercially available. The tubing we use is nothing proprietary, but it is metric and has a fairly thick wall.

One last question, if I can figure out a way to make this work, using 1/4” standard tubing won’t have any adverse effects on the pump or how the osmolator system functions?

I think i read that 3/8 quick connect fitting reduced to 1/4 ro fitting will slide onto the osmolator pump. I haven't tried it myself but had seen in a thread some where.

You want to use the stock tubing to connect to the pump, otherwise we commonly see with airline or RO tubing that the tube is too far inserted into the pump and jams the impeller. The other caution would be that any splice is a potential failure point, the tubing could pop off and cause flooding.

I finally got around to trying this. Seems to be working really well.
