Does anyone keep these, and whats their care like, i assume the same as other boxfish. Just saw they only get to 12cm/5 inches, so im kind of intrigued as id like a boxfish lol.

I had a female Solorensis a few years ago, they’re not as hardy or grow as large as Cubicus or longhorn & thornback cowfish. I got her at about 1 1/2” long, she started feeding on live brine shrimp initially mixed with the frozen food, afterwards, she ate everything. I think the key to acclimation & well being with boxfish is size( 1-11/2”), tank mates, place of collection and housing. She was a great fish, wish I would’ve kept her, gave her to a friend. She grew to about 3 1/2” in about 2 years. Go for it, good luck

Cool thank you for the advice, im not sure if ill be able to get one as im in the UK but ill be on the lookout. Im unsure if my fish would be good for one, but they ignore my filefish which is like a compressed boxfish lol. I have lots of anthias and , a leopard pencil and flasher wrasses, a multibar angel, but my main concern would be mr starcki damsel but hes pretty mellow.

The issue I see is competition for food, with anthias & wrasses in the tank, it might get outcompeted for food. They’re ( boxfish) are pretty passive. If you can get cowfish or Cubicus boxfish in the UK, you should be able to get one. Check your favorite LFS to see if they can get you one.

I was worried about that too, i do feed kinda heavily so it might work. But im not sure. Did yours eat nori sheets or justs strictly frozen?
