I went to the critter last Saturday and got a couple of large angelfish for my wife's FW tank. I know it can be hard to guess the sex of them but I went with one that was very plump (female) and one that had a slight hump to it's head (male). Ever since I got them home they had been hanging out together. Today I noticed them cleaning the back wall and while watching them the female went and started laying eggs! I know it isn't a super hard feat to get them to breed. I have done it before years ago. Just thought I would share. Hopefully we can save some of them and raise them.

Awesome!

Did you ever find any seahorses?

No, I talked to Sean at the meeting and he said his guy has some almost old enough to sell. He said probably a few weeks.

Gotcha.

Well, the first few batches were laid on the glass and were eaten by either the parents or other fish. This weekend my son spotted a small batch on a leaf so we plucked it out and put it in a critter keeper with some methylene blue and an air line. Kinda just a quick setup with what was laying around. I put a small rock on top of the stem of the leaf to keep it from floating around and in the process knocked most of the eggs off and they were laying on the bottom. I noticed today that we have "wigglers". Since some of you have done this before what would you recommend feeding them? I don't think any of the brine shrimp eggs I have are any good anymore and don't think I'll be able to make it to anywhere that has them in the next several days. Would they possibly be able to eat flake food ground up into a powder? We had a pair of angels years ago that would lay eggs and usually managed to raise a couple so they had to be eating something from the community tank.

I raised angels and discus years ago, they'll have yolk sacs for a couple days to survive, I would feed them freshly hatched brine shrimp for a few days and then flakes ground into a powder. There is in some LFS now a powder that you can use, not sure if its small enough for the newly hatched babies or not, never tried it.
