Is it just me or does anyone else have other pets that seem to be into reefing just as much as you are? Now I don't mean the occasional dog that will sit by you as you're doing testing, I mean the pets that for some reason can't keep their paws off the tank. If so lets share some photos. Ill start it off!Ive got a cat that loves to check on the corals all day long and a dog that likes to make sure all is going well in the sump. IMG_0040.jpeg

I'm not a fan of cats by any stretch of the imagination. But this is another big reason I won't let my wife get one. My tank is open top and all I would need is for the cat to go swimming lol. To much invested in the tank to let a cat destroy it. I am however a huge reptile person. I don't own any at the current moment but I previously had a bearded dragon and a rainbow boa constrictor. A couple ball pythons and corn snakes. My next reptile purchase once my kids get bigger is going to be either another bearded dragon or ball python. Neither of which would mess with the tank :)

Edit: I do have two small children if they count lol. My 1 year old can't stop putting her hands on the glass so i'm constantly having to wipe down the lower half of the tank ;Hilarious;Hilarious
Not to mention anytime the sump door is open she's got to look inside

Small children definitely count, thats a future reef keeper you've got on your hands.

I sure hope so! My 5 year old doesn't really show any interest in the tank, but I am really hoping one of them picks up on it :) I would be more then willing to get one of them their own tank.

what drives me nuts is the tank sits well above the height of the dogs, they dont go near it, and i still find hair stuck to the powerheads.
There is no escaping dog hair. My tank has a closed top and still I can open it up on any given day to see dog hair.

My husband's cat has recently taken to lounging on top of the 90. Idk how he figured out how to get up there as it's 6 feet off the ground. I had one of the perches for my bird up there before, but I moved it to keep feathers from flying lol.

He prefers to be on me anyway, and often flies off his perches to be on my shoulder, so I don't think he minds lol.

My cat does not care about the tanks at all, but once jumped in when I was doing a waterchange, now he really does not care about the tanks lol. Persian cat fur and saltwater do not mix well, so I had to give the cat a bath after the WC . I don't have a pic of that, so here is one of him and the tank in one shot lol.

Cat would only do so once.... I have five cats and often have part of my tank lid open and no one even bothers. We'll see about the 125 g with no lid when it is set up

Ughhhh my cat....obsessed with all the tanks...thank god for smart ato or I would have had a flood numerous times.

This is too cute!

One of my cats liked to climb on my tanks until one day he fell in the 40 breeder. Hasn't gone near them since. My dogs could care less about them.

I had this problem for a while

Well, that was a solution to the problem.

When I got macroalgae, waving back and forth, the cat was obsessed with it and would always try to swat the algae. :D :D Scared the bejezus out of the two fish in the tank

After a two months or so, everyone calmed down. The two cats love looking at the tank - often, but not always. And the fish don't care. :D

I have Screen tops that I built on top of my Tank. Until I added two extra lights one cat liked to walk across the top of the tank. But now they are content to sit and watch.
