On NATGEO. Caught episode last nite. They built tanks at Marlin park behind home plate. At least on the preview for the next episode one of the employes Francis I think. Mentions tank cycling or the lack of on this shark tank they are working on.

I prefer non-drama style television. Tanked seems to be a jolly crew having fun, without much tension and drama. Just my 2 cents.

It wasn't nearly as bad as tanked when it comes to husbandry, but it's dry and kind of boring.

i would have to assume that the lack of husbandry on the shows is basically because of the fact that it is TV. I dont agree with them leaving it out as it may misinform several people in the hobby, but the shows purpose is more of an entertainment aspect....just my .02
I much prefer dry and boring, it it's educational. The ethics of Brett from tanked stating "It's not our job to educate" at every trade show or club he speaks at annoys me quite verily. It's not his responsibility no, but if he's a conscientious aquarist he should certainly use the platform to promote that.

Tanked is more geared for main stream TV, scripted comically and Drama. Fish kings seems more educational, it is on National Geo. Both make great tanks.
Of course the 54 watt will illuminate the 30RL completely, that's not the angle (literally) I was speaking from. The 54 watt in my initial quantum flux readings does not show adequate cover in the edges for those wishing to maintain hermatypic (shallow water SPS) throughout the entire tank. The 108 will cover a broader area due to not only being larger but the lens it is equipped with. The question of "what will work" is subjective depending on the type of photosynthetic cnidaria or bivalves you wish to keep. As far as as my employment, it is not my only qualification when speaking regarding husbandry but thanks for the "dig." :angel:

the content of these shows is to entertain but the fact the get people interested in our hobby is priceless

Yeah tanked is way better. Fish tank kings is boring and there is no personality at all. One job a guy Wanted a reef tank and they went out there trying to talk them out of it cause it was to hard. In my book a customer gets what they want, not what easier for the guy doing the work.

Ya know I enjoy them both. Obnoxious yes. Overbearing personality yea. Beautiful tanks n fish u betcha. Just wish they got into more animal and water husbandry. 2¢ worth.
