I think that's the echinata being that tough. The echinata looks to be attacking the acropora.

Yeah, some of my echinos have fallen on other corals in the past and just laid waste to them. It sucks but what can you do?

Yeah echinata'a are very agressive.

I had the same acan & it fell face down onto a lobo brain that is a killer to anything near it. Turned 1/3 of it into skeleton overnight. I thought it was the brain doing the killing until I took the acan off it.
