Who needs a tv when you have something so beautiful as your tank to watch!! I would not get anything else done if I had it.
Totally agree with you Chris! You have no idea how many times I've walked over there to start another project & just got caught up staring into the tank lol, half an hour later I still haven't started what I went to do  The tank really helps with the COD rage when your spawn killed, just look over at the tank.

Thanks Mr. Hobby, no idea to be honest mate. I think there's a better pic somewhere, I'll try & find a few. There's about 10 Chalice in the tank now & still a dozen or more in the sump to go be brought up to the DT. I think you'd class our tank as Chalice / SPS dominated lol.

A slightly better pic, at least it's under whites lol

Same piece when we pulled the old tank down in Aug 15, you can see where the top edge was wedged under the rockwork.

Some that still need to go into the DT.

This is the green stripped Chalice that the heater was resting on from when we first got it. I'd call it green on a blueish base, we have another with the same green stripes but on a reddish base

A very under rated coral over here a few years ago, now your almost fighting for the higher quality type lol.

awesome chalice collection. You must have had them for a while to have them be so large. Always admired people who are able to successful grow SPS and LPS in the same systems given their requirement differences.

For when a ten-foot tank just isn't big enough. On the one hand, you make me jealous as all get-out as I'm planning out my "mere" 7-foot, 250 g setup. On the other hand, you give me ammo to say to my wife, "See, 250 gallons isn't so big!"

Curious, though, why would you go through all the hassles of such a swap-out to replace a ten-footer with a twelve-footer?

We've had a lot of them for awhile now, but there is always something new to be found around the traps.
I have to admit tho, we don't really do anything different now matter what is in the tank. Not the best practice I know but I rely more on visual indicators from the corals / fish then doing water tests.

WOW awesome!
Thanks rev :)

Really cool build,...subscribed !
Don't know how your dino thing is coming,...but I get off on other things myself when they show up.
Here is a interesting thread here on R2R,...only a few pages and I have just started to raise my ph so I don't know the outcome yet,...but the op says it worked for him.

Things have really settled down now thanks Bond. Since the last syphon it's nowhere near as bad. One more clean & I think we should be done:)
I did read that thread, very interesting, so many ways people have beaten it. I couldn't even tell you what the pH is in the tank :(

Absolutely AMAZING can I move in........ :3} What is the total weight of it with water???
Thanks SeaHorseSmile, If you make a good coffee & handy around the place I'll find a spot for you lol. We have worked on somewhere between 5-6 tonnes all up. About 4 ton of water, tank is around 500Kg's, stand is around 500Kg's plus all the MDF, plywood, acrylic & equipment. Kinda scary so we don't think about that lol, I only think about that when I'm under the tank.

Amazing. What are you using as power switches? (The blue ones)
The switches are similar to the Chauvet boards you have over there, just upgraded to handle the higher power over here. 8 sockets on the back, 8 switches on the front. We had the blues switches fitted as they are not standard.

Love your thinking with the wife Kenger lol. In no way a 7ft tank "mere" you'll have lots to do for the whole build & beyond. :)
The 10ft was 2.5 high & 2.5 wide, Moo was having trouble turning around in the tank as there was just to much rock. We couldn't remove any rock because there were to many corals, catch22. Moo is around 14" now & still has a fair bit to grow. The extra 2ft in length is just because we could, going 4ft wide grew from talking with friends & coming up with stupid numbers lol. The more we spoke about it the closer it got to happening, it will be our last big tank build & should see Moo happy for years. :)

Photo bombing like a pro!

FTS of how the tank is looking so far complete with algae ridden frag sections in the sump lol. I will get around to cleaning them sometime. Moo is behind the rocks but you can see the reflection on the left hand side.

Sorry if I missed it,...what fixtures are you using ? Thanks,---Rick

Impressive! I just helped a friend move his 300 gallon tank, I can't even imagine setting up that mammoth!!!

Looking forward to following the thread and seeing the tank mature. You've done stellar mate. Great job!

Awesomeness!!!
Now grow out time
Thanks mate, still have heap to stick own tho. The first lot that went in are starting to show growth signs, but a couple also not happy where they are & have to be moved.

Sorry if I missed it,...what fixtures are you using ? Thanks,---Rick
By fixtures I'm taking it you mean the lights?
They are a DIY I built about 4 years ago lol. All I did for the change over was add another run of heat sink to cover the extra width. A total of 366 Cree LED's over the tank now. The frag tanks have Lumini Gemis over them, very happy with them but would like to upgrade to the Glisten only for the longer units.

Mate, now that cracked both of us up lol, that's funny :)

Thanks for the kind words Frogman, tear down & setup to me nearly all of August to do. Everyday was tank related & the help of many friends moving the big bits around. I'll throw up another FTS next week if not before lol, as there will be another dozen or so corals moved up to the DT.

Please keep posting pictures, never in my wildest dreams will I have what you have, but can enjoy yours.

WOW!!!!! Alright, when can I come dive your reef? lol! It looks great! I wish I could afford/have space for a tank like this!
