Our 180g Reef Build

Well, we drove about 6 hours to pick up this tank and stand. As you see, the tank needs cleaned and the stand needs painted or stained or something! Have never done a tank build thread, but thought it would be fun to give it a try! Will update as we go along!

Finally have our floor leveled and painted and it's almost time to move our tank into position! Going to paint the back of the tank and the stand this weekend then it goes into place! Have all the equipment we need except our circulation pumps, which we will get in the next week or so. On a $$ restraint time-frame sometimes it takes awhile to get things rolling, but patience goes a long way! Will post a pic when we get the tank moved!

I know it's been forever since I've even mentioned our new 180 build, but it's back on track once more. Scored a FREE 125g full of live rock, etc. so that's a big expense I don't have to worry about! Have most of the rest of the equipment now, so it's coming along. My question is: we are wanting to do schooling fish in this tank. What are some suggestions for the best schoolers? I've seen anthias...are there others? Thanks!

Here it is, all set up and looking great! I painted the stand and tank edges a semi-gloss enamel and the back of the tank a flat black. The "inherited" lights will soon be replaced with the pair of Hydra 26's I won right here on R2R! There is a large sailfin tang, a pair of clownfish, a hawkfish and a hermit crab, all inherited in the 125 we rescued. All the live rock in the picture was also in the 125. We have a 75g sump with a large skimmer and pump. Will be adding the circulation pumps today. I am so happy to finally have this up and running!
