So went to the LFS that i hadnt been to for a while and they had these beautiful small 2" maxima's!! i had to have one as amanda has been wanting one for the past 2 years since we saw one in the LFS. so i pulled the trigger, it opened up to this within about 30 min of beeing in the tank after acclimating. this morning it seems to have moved around a bit trying to get anchored in the substrate! hope it gets happy!

sorry for the poor pics all i have is my phone :squigglemouth: hopefulyl santa will be nice and bring me a new camera this year!!

Very nice I had 1done like it a few years ago, but my emerald crab ate it the night I bought it. Hope all goes well.

no emeralds in this tank  and evreything in here has been good, have scolly and some chalices that were all but dead and healing back and they dont bother them. so hopefully the same for the clam!!

Emerald crabs won't kill them, they are there just cleaning up the mess afterwards. It sounds to me like the clam was stressed and near death before you bought it.

hmm gonna have to move amanda electric blue crab to the 75... he keeps wanting to play soccer with the litle clam it seems.... he doesnt chew on anything just is a 2" bulldozer.......we have a smaller one we will replace him with

well it would appear that the clam doesnt like it on the rocks so much after being up there now for 3 weeks.... it has bailed off now 2 days in a row... and as of right now as its foot attached to the stem of our lobo lol..... so im waiting for it to move away and see where it goes i guess.... im set it in the sand once it lets go of the lobo!!

How much light is down there? Those zoas are really reaching. Love that meat coral. Awesome clam. I have tried several but to no success.

wow bene a while since i looked at this lol... and coming back with no good news....

clam had and been looking great!!! finally moved itself to a spot it liked and settled in!! so we thought....... went to bed last night looked great and nothing out of the normal.... worked around the hosue all day today not looking at the tnak becuase our lights dont come on intill 3pm becuase thats when we get home from work durring the week.... well they come on, wife got home shortly later and we sat down and looked at the tank, just to see an empy clam shell..... was a hermit crab in it but he had no meat or anything so im sure was just checking it out..... no idea what happend. went from open wide and great color to gone.......

must have a killer in the tnak somewhere.....

and by the way those pali have reached up like that no matter where i put them.... i ahve had them 6" under 4xt5ho's with all ati bulbs and they reach like that lol
