Good afternoon everyone hope everyone is doing well. My question today is there anyone besides myself that would or is using excel to graph out their recorded water parameters? If so I am trying to record my data to monitor my tank closely and find the idea parameters and keep them better stable in my journey in this hobby. Possibly a little over kill but I thought it would be cool to monitor the changes in my tank. Thank you all happy reefing.

I use an app on my phone that allows me to input the data and view it over time in both numbers and a line graph. Kind of similar :) It's called ReefLog for those interested :)

Lol @crabs_mcjones of all the people you and @cracker I totally could see doing this:). I’m not even going to attempt lol because it will consume me because one little dip in my graph will make me panic. Plus I’m terrible at apps and stuff. However, great at graphs and pie graphs and charts, I always make them so pretty.

I am going to check this out! I just converted from taking notes on my iphone (pain in the butt) to old fashioned note pad. I should have known there would be and App. :D

Are those apps?
Apex is a brand of controller... has a web interface, can collect and chart tests.

Triton is a testing service, you send them a water sample, they test for many different elements, and give you the results via web page. Charting over time is available, if you use the service regularly.

Lol wait hold everything lol @cracker you mean to tell me I’m not the only one who doesn’t have a smart phone lol. (Well I do now but haven’t turned it on yet or set it up been to busy). Yay I’m not the only one :).

What! a graduate drs degree ? No fancy cell phone ? Don't do it. You will never get any peace. The technology will draw You in ! ;)

I use excel for tracking and graphing my test results. It’s pretty easy to set up and enter everything. You can go crazy if you want and use excel online and then you could access it from your phone if you so desired.

Graphing your test results is a great way to see trends in your tanks. I work at a wastewater treatment plant and we trend all of our daily testing. It can really can help you see problems before they get out of hand or show that a small blip in the numbers is nothing is unusual.

Old school. I use a notebook, pencil. Months of data at your fingertips. No charging needed. No batteries. I never lose data, like my phone.

Excel was driving me crazy I could get the axis labels how I wanted them. I had them by date and then the different test. You wouldn’t happen to have a pre set layout I could use?
