I have a seasonal job that requires me to travel for work. Some times I'm gone for more than a months time. Right now I'm relying on my wife and neighbor to take care of my reef tank. I would like to take some of the hassle from them. I am hoping some of you guys can help me. I'm looking for a way to dose from my Android phone. I like the idea of using a doser but would like to be able to make cages from a far. I figured I can go two routs. A controler hooked up to doser or a doser that can be controler from afar. I just want to see what's out there with the best user interface for dosing by phone. Can you guys help? Pics or screenshots of the user interface will help too. Thanks.

I would say a controller would be best, but you would need to test weekly or bi weekly IMO. Can control all functions of tank with controller. I highly recommend one!!

I can't speak for the reef keeper but apex fusion is very user friendly and simple to read and set up.

Im an apex user also. Really satisfied with mine. I am not using fusion though. Still pretty easy to setup. I set my dosers to dose 12 times a day and if I need to adjust can just add or subtract time. Calcium odd hours and alk even.

I have dosers from brs. They work pretty good. Have one of the drew also and it works fine too. I use 1.1 ml.

I need to dose 2.5 ml of alk a day and 5ml of mag weekly. My calcium stays constant (I think due to the hard water in my area). I also dose fuel Weekly.

Get an apex and a couple brs 1.1 ml dosing pumps. I also work on the road and have my wife test parameters weekly. If the dosing needs adjusted I just get on my iPad and change the dosing times.

Just ordered apex jr with 8 plug bar and two 1.1 dosing pumps. I also ordered the hydor top off controller but might send back and get tunze because of the reviews. Bye bye 600$

Haha Ya thats([emoji651]️) why I don't have a tank controller.

Ok I have the brs 1.1 set up but the apex pump set up for dosing is the most confusing thing I have ever seen. Why can't it just be I need this pump on for this long. the fact that they want you to calculate all this stuff out is amazing. The room for error is wide.

Ok found a calculator to work with programming dosing pumps in apex. Here's link Apex Dosing Program Generator
I was wondering how they did the math. In case you don't understand like I did the formula is (number of min of dosing per day)×.60÷24=(your dose time per hour).

You can set it up advanced and just say if time is 12:00 to 12:02 then on. I have my alk set up on even hours and cal odd hours. That makes it easier for me to keep stable, I can adjust as needed, say take away a minute here or there or add a few..

My program. Works great for me.
