One of those electric transponders blew out in my neighborhood and the guys working on it said it will probably take 6-hours to fix. So I want to prepare for 6-hours as a bare minimum. I have 2x MP40s and 1x battery backup. Right now I have one of the MP40s hooked up since the battery will last twice as long that way. Do you think this is enough surface agitation in my video? It shows the surface ripple on one side of my tank. I can hook up the other MP40 on the other side too, but it will kill the battery quicker.
Its a 120 gallon with 15 fish. Mostly small fish. The biggest being fish being 2x medium tangs around 3-4” and a male lyretail Anthias. I took the auto feeder out and I don’t do any type of carbon dosing anyway.
I can’t figure out how to edit the title from my phone, but obviously I meant “outage”

You can much better oxygenation efficiency by running a skimmer and air-pumps.

My only option for power right now is a Vortech battery backup.

Oh I see. I cant see the video. However, just raise them up so they are injecting more air into the tank the more micro bubbles you see the better.

I’d look into getting a cheap generator for the future. It’s well worth it just for the piece of mind if you have a longer outage. Any of these would work great and are affordable:

Harbor freight also sells a cheap one and they have a sale almost always.

I’ve been thinking about getting one of those for awhile. This may push me to finally do it. Luckily I don’t have to worry much about a temp swing, in addition to the oxygen. The high is 80 today. I’m going to raise the MP40 up in a little bit, to put a bunch microbubbles in the water. Should be fine.

It only ended up being out for 4-hours. But hopefully enough to give me a push to buy the generator I’ve been thinking about. Plus maybe a battery powered pump too. My temp dropped a little less than 2-degrees. No big deal, I’m just going to make sure to set my cooling fan a little lower so the total temp swing is under 3-degrees when the lights are on.
