Hello, I have a question I have been wondering. Could I put a tank out side with a filter and wave maker and all that needed to grow corals and just use the sun’s light instead of buying one? If not why?

I know a coral farm near me uses a greenhouse on the front of their building. Being in the mid-Atlantic region of the US they run supplemental lights in winter and use shade cloth in summer.
It’s possible.

Oh cool! Thanks for letting me know! Also do you know what the name of the farm is?

I had a glass tank on my patio for holding rock that got full sun for a few hours a day. I was able to grow zoas and whatever else was on the rock, but the temp swings on the water was huge. I'm not sure if anything sensitive to temp swings would survive. I originally started that tank to observe live rock from Tampa Bay before it went into the main display. Everything on those rocks thrived and the water parameters didn't indicate much die off. There was a roof over the patio, so the tank didn't get blasted by the sun all day.
