Please forgive the grammatical errors that are sure to follow due to my down south up bringing and the few 12 oz beverages that I may or may have not consumed.

I've never done a build thread as I consider myself a big time lurker and just sit back and read and research, along with there's always something to learn from everyone else. But due to a little peer pressure/threats from LILBUDDHA and TBDH20 I have no choice but to give this a try. A little back story of myself which begins as almost everyone else has, I started a reef tank a few years back and of course started small and quickly outgrew the tanks and bank accounts. I've gotten in and out the hobby of course and gone from softies to full sps blown reefs due to the challenge. I got back into the hobby recently last November with a JBJ 30 Rl that I had sold to a close friend when I got out the hobby last. Current equipment list is as follows

JBJ 30 RL
CPR Medium HOB Refugium
Mp10
Aquamaxx HOB 1
Eheim Compact 2000
Radion XR15 Pro with mount
Mixed reef with LPS and SPS along with 2 clownfish, 2 purple firefish, and a tiny tomini tang

At the end of April I decided to upgrade to a 68 Cadlights Versa and due to poor customer service and my hectic work schedule and life changing event I've just now got it set up. The first tank showed up broke due to FEDEX . Second tank finally got shipped and FEDEX said I had to pay for shipping due to non payment on CADLIGHTS behalf and after phone call and voicemail that was never returned they settled the balance with FEDEX and I was able to pick up my tank and stand. New tank showed up intact and great shape except for the stand which had scratches and misdrilled hinge holes along with the missing tank mat that took over a month to receive. I received the mat on June 11th and it had 2 cuts already from poor measurement. When I finally got the tank and stand ready to set up the stand had a gap between stand and left front corner of tank. After back and forth emails I was told it would be ok and covered under warranty. Overall CAD tanks are A+, stands and customer service are far from passing grade. I will post pictures of mat and stand later. My work started up in July and finally slowed down at end of August allowing me to set new tank up.

Looks like it is coming along nicely! And welcome to the community!

My buddy LILBUDDHA got the hook up on some air freight rock that was worth the wait after a mix up on some so called manado rock. I cycled the rock in my new tank while work picked up. I know most people don't show the bad with the good but imma throw it all on the table. First I had lots of crab and worms on the rock which I took care of with some Sentinal. Then i had a algae bloom even after scrubbing the rock and performing water change. I even had massive flow from a Waveline DC6000 and RLSS R8I skimmer that I never sold from previous tank.

Ha ..
Congrats .. on the build . I am sure some reefers will enjoy it .
It's just weird we don't see the same stuff from two different boxes of rock . After all it was a total of 2000 lbs that came in . We only got 2 boxes of 57 ?

I wonder who I got this bucket of salt from ???
This is a point of reference, when we met the first time .. LOL
I never did do the big build ..

Congratulations on the birth of your son and home safe!

Congrats on the birth of your son, and the start of your tank. Cad does make some nice tanks. But I have to agree with you on the customer service. I went through similar issues getting my 75 here in one complete piece to install.
Best of luck with your build, and your son!

Sure was a while ago. Who knew we would become great friends over a trade of salt and frags. Thanks for all the insight and research you do even if I don't always read everything in the emails. Haha

Seems a few people have had the same issues but oh well there's always something bad to go with the good. Thanks!

Found a picture of my JBJ 30 after I set it up in November and a current up to date with everything jumbled up in it. Sorry for the crappy pictures I've never been a good photographer of anything.Wife hates asking me to take pictures because they come out too blurry, off centered, too bright, or to dim. Haha

Told myself I wasn't going to get back into full blown SPS but the JBJ started off with a few sticks then a few more would start showing up each month. Every time my wife would walk by the tank she would say she's starting to see more and more sticks and shake her head. Once a stick head always a stick head I guess. Haha
