I installed a automatic feeder. Well the lid was open and all the food dumped my tank. I am mediately did a water change. I tried to suck up as much of the food as possible. How long should I give it before I do another water change? I am also running carbon through the filter any other recommendations I should be doing?

just check your water parameters often for the next few days and in the event of an abnormal increase in your numbers do another water change. Should be good to go within a few days to a week.
