Is it possible to over feed Tangs?? I place seaweed and algea strips in my tank every morning and when I get off work they are eaten. I think I am going to add a 3rd feeding strip of seaweed but I don't now if this is over feeding. I have 1 Kole tang, 1 Purple tang, 1 Naso tang, 1 yellow tang and 1 Magnificent Fo

I have a 180g sps with a 55g refugium

It is ... I've seen some tangs that were rather thicker than a tang should be. Helps keep aggression down though. (For the same reasons that few folks really go at it right after Thanksgiving dinner.)

That said, their natural "style" is to dip down to the reef and take a few bites, every few minutes, all day long - and I've seen some pretty thick tangs on "in-the-wild" videos, as well.

Deciding how much to feed tangs is a little difficult for me. My wrasses and most other fish will eat their fill and stop but my purple tang will literally eat as long as I put food in the tank. He's a little obese but he's also not bothering anything in the tank:D

If you got that refugium light on all day in that 55 gallon sump… then don’t worry about over feeding. Happy fat fish are less aggressive . I feed my 4 tangs every other 3 days Seaweed too. In between they get flakes , pellets, mysis (lots of it) . My refugium is alive though so I don’t worry about it :)

I’m assuming your running Chaeto or some type of macro algae
