I just got a bigger pump to put my sump in the basement and now it's not sucking it fast enough. I need a bigger overflow box right? I have my pump set about 2000gph what over flow box would I need now?

What do you mean it's not sucking fast enough? The pump is pumping too fast sucking in air or not enough water coming from overflow?

Yes the pump is sucking to fast for the box to keep up with it. It works fine with my little mag Drive 1200 but not with my big pump

Is this a hang on overflow? I don't know of a hang on overflow with gph that high. You may be looking into drilling the tank, or just dial back the pump.

Yes It's hang on back. I seen reef octopus had a nice 2000gph one but not sure they make them anymore. I can dial it back but it's just not enough to get it upstairs and have a little pressure

I really would love to have a hang on bc my tank has been up and running for 3 years. Lol

can you post pictures of your overflow and pump/sump. if the pump is sending too much water you have to turn it down to match you overflow. however, with your sump down stairs. sound more like that new pump has a lower head ratio on it. doesn't have enough bang behind it.
