hello,

I have been thinking about adding a calcium reactor to my frag system which is only 75 gallon total volume. I do intend to upgrade one day to a tank in the 300 to 500 gallon range. Is there any downfall to oversizing the calcium reactor setup so that when the upgrade comes along one day I don’t have to change any pieces out ( media chamber etc).

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you

Other than it will cost more to buy for an upgrade that may never happen .... not really. Once you work out the equilibrium point to maintain levels, size just determines how long the media lasts.

I ran my big one on my 125g for 3 years.. Now its on my 600g. You control the output.
