Attempted breaking up NOPOX dosing using APEX and screwed up one of the times. Instead of dosing If Time 16:56 to 16:58 Then ON I dosed If Time 16:56 to 06:58 Then ON using BRS doser. Beginning water change now of 20%. Turned off all dosing dKh at 10.2.

Suggestions?

How big of a tank and how many ml dosed?
I’ve dosed 5ml per 20 gallon on accident and only thing that happened was a bacteria bloom. Water change and aeration is the best thing if you dosed a lot.

- pull the cup off your skimmer if you have one and crank it up full blast so it is over flowing

- any and all powerheads you have need to be on full blast and pointed towards the surface

- If you have some bubbler air stones you may want to break those out.

You probably have a good sized bacterial bloom coming.

Another option, if your skimmer has a drain line, is to let the cup drain into a bucket to help pull bacteria out of the system when the bloom occurs.

Yep, the white mucous appearing bacteria bloom is likely on the way. As @Amoo said, oxygenation is critical if it's a large one. In addition to what he said, if you have a refugium light it 24/7. Photosynthesis will add a little O2.

It may get pretty ugly looking but usually it's not too hard on the fish/inverts as long as O2 is ok (been there, done that, got the t shirt). Watch your nutrients and make sure NO3 and PO4 don't fall to zero.

You will be OK. I dumped a fifth of vodka in my tank just as I went on vacation for 10 days. The tank survived with me doing nothing but letting nature take it's course. I had a massive bacterial bloom, water changes would have helped minimize this. Two to three days after the bloom started, the die off will started. PH started to go down slowly for 3-4 days then slowly back up. I came home to a dirty tank but no losses.

Good on the 20% water change, a couple more a day apart will help. I would keep the cup on the skimmer to pull the bacteria out. Do keep as much surface agitation going as possible, encouraging CO2 transfer is the goal. I suggest checking your phosphate and nitrate levels daily and keep them in an appropriate range. With the overdose of carbon, phosphate and/or nitrate could become the limiting nutrient for the bacteria to grow. If all the Na or P is used up by the bacteria your corals will not be happy. Keep Alk as stable as possible and don't worry about PH. Good stable water parameters with a daily dose of patience will let the nutrients to balance back out.

DROP IN AN AIRSTONE!!! Trust me. I almost lost my whole tank due to the same thing last year.

I had the exact same issue earlier this year,

A white bacterial 'cloud' appeared on my rocks & sand, it took me a good 1-2weeks to get it all out & have none of it coming back. Although i didn't have a skimmer.

I didn't lose any coral, inverts or fish though, as mentioned by others aslong as NO3 & PO4 doesn't drop to 0, and your oxygen is OK it'll be fine

Thanks to everyone - tank is 200 gal with Triton44 Trigger Sump, Vertex 180i Skimmer, Kessil h380 Fuge Light, 2 Radion XR30w Gen3 Lights with w existing LED IC PRO Loop lights, Orbit Marine 72" IC LOOP PRO Dual LED System w/HUB, 2 eFlux LOOP Accessory Wave Pump 2100 GPH, 1 eFlux LOOP DC Flow Return Pump 3170GPH - Current USA.

Things are cloudy - a few things slimy - lost a cleaning crab I didn't know I had. Replaced 40 gallons yesterday - have large reserve and will trickle replace daily until clear. Alkalinity is high though at 10.6.

Reducing water level to allow air bubbles to occur from Return Pump to aid in reduction since I do not have air stone - I am figuring this should do the same thing.

Alkalinity seems to be going up fast. Yesterday 10.5 this am 12.6. Will continue water replacement today. Nothing died yet except as mentioned above

I was wondering how it was going. I'm really sorry. Stressful I know.

Nitrates at zero, PH at 0.00
Air stone in place as well as setting sump to level causing air bubbles in main tank.

Replaced 50 gallons salt water yesterday, kept air bubbles flowing . Nitrates up to 10 today. Fish are eating some Nori with garlic and some frozen food too. Salinity in check 1.026. Some foam but everything appears to be coming "out of its shell" again slowly. Thanks to everyone for their help
