Hey everyone, I recently purchased a used Oceanic XL 67g tank. It has a center overflow with 2 drilled holes.

First question, what size bulkheads do I need? I want to replace the used ones. One has 1.5" PVC attached to it, the other has 3/4". Are these the bulkhead sizes as well?

Secondly, what type of overflow would be best? I was thinking durso but it looks like 1.5" durso will not fit without major modifications to shorten the PVC 90 and T. See pics below. Should I step down to smaller diameter PVC?

Thanks for the help.

Here are some pics of the plumbing that came with the tank.

1st question: yes pipe size will tell you what size BH you have.

2nd question:I usually build my durso with 1.25 PVC and use a street L (which is a shortened 90) which gives you the clearance you need inside the OF.

I think that is preference. I prefer slip BH's over threaded. reason being, while your unscrewing something out of your BH you can spin the BH and cause it to leak.

Got the return manifold done up (most of it is not glued in case I change my mind) and also the durso overflow. I was able to make it fit using the street ell and trimming it down.

Everything look good? Am I messing something up?
