So I am getting another tank going....a 75. I drilled the tank in 3 places and installed bullheads with no issues. I am plumbing the Herbie method. However, after siliconing on the overflow box....I realized the clearance inside the box was too small for my 90 elbow and drain pipe (1"). So, I picked up a 90 degree 1" to 1/2" Barb fitting. I'm curious if (because it's an emergency drain) would there be enough flow through this make**** drain if the other drain were to clog. Basically the emergency drain is a small 90 fitting in the box because it's he only thing that fits. The main drain is a lifeguard aquatics strainer directly out of the bulkhead.

Any ideas for what to do here? Is the makeshift emergency drain something that could work based on the diameter of the drain?

Yes it will! That's amazing that one side is male and one is female. I was actually looking for something similar to this!

Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it. I'm amazing when it comes to computers, but terrible with plumbing apparently.
