Anyone clean the inside of their overflow box? After having to rescue my blue sided wrasse out of mine this weekend I noticed mine was pretty bad. Literally the only place that hair algae seems to grow in my tank.

Thought I would take out the stand pipes today and clean it with a bit of vinegar.

Once in a while, yes. I use hot water and scrub it, followed by a RODI rinse.
I also look at it as a mini-fuge. I have thought about putting some chaeto in there since it is right under the lights.

I also use look at mine like a built in mini-fuge.
Build a little cover for the top with screen or netting so you don't have to keep rescuing fish that jump in there.

I have screen tops. But they manage to get through the small gap between the screen and overflow lol

Sneaky fish! Lol

I made a lid for my overflow box out of ABS plastic. It's in my build thread. Nothing fancy at all, but it greatly reduced the amount of light and won't have any critters in there anymore!
