Hey Everyone,

I need to purchase an overflow box - upgrading my tank from a 55 to a 75 and getting a sump to replace my Fluval 406. There are a ton of options with overflow box's and I'm clueless. Any suggestions from experience?

I've the eshops eclipse M in my 55 set up as a herbie....love it!

Recently i purchased the In Out Xaqua for my frag tank, i think TLF is the distributor in the US. I liked the fact that it's an overflow and return system AIO and small footprint. Hesitated because it's only one drain and might not be that quiet as a herbie, but no regrets, good flow, silent, good price and the return has an awesome feature, it pulses above 500 gph so you get a passive wavemaker for free!
Either one has worked well for me and cheaper than other options

A few questions to help narrow the field.
-Are you planning to drill? Highly recommended instead of an over the side type.
-Are you looking for 2 or 3 drains? 3 is highly recommended.
-Is there a particular budget you're looking at?

I’m looking at one drain due to the sump I was given.

Can’t drill into this glass it will have to be a hang over.

Budgets not much of a problem

Modular Marine, I'm loving mine. Solid acrylic and silent and without a visible waterline. And because of the cover inside the tank section I never have to worry about little critters going down the overflows.

If you're absolutely sure you can't drill then go with either an eshopps or Lifereef overflow. I like these types because they don't rely on a pump for the siphon and one less cord that needs to be plugged in. In August it will be 5 years my tank has been running without any issues whatsoever with the eshopps overflow on my 75g. These get a bad rap but if set up correctly there shouldn't be any problems.

I have a Eshopps L on my 75g and it works. Here are my issues with it though. Even mounted all the way to the top of the trim on the tank my water level is still lower than I like. This is because the slots are cut too long on the internal box. The outer box and its lid have bowed out and distorted a little over the last year. Its not causing any issues so far but I dont like it. Wish I would have gone with Modular Marine instead.
