Ok, so I have a hob overflow and am not a physicist let alone good at math,

The box in the tank is 3x6.5 and about 5 inches deep.

The u-tube is 1.5 inch.

The hang on part is the same dimension is the internal box only 3 inches deeper

The standpipe is a durso style at 1.25 inches and the drain line goes down to the basement about 15 feet.

What would be the rough max flow I could pump through this without it goin over?

Ok. That would be great. The pumps not sending it up full blast and bubbles are building up in overflow tube.

I just set up a buddies tank with a smaller overflow and his shoots the bubbles all the way through it. I'm going to direct more flow and see if it helps.

My sump is a long walk and I just wanted an estimate before I ran down cranked it up and had a flood before I could get back up haha.

I had this same problem. I replaced the return pump sponge/filter and it solved the problem!

not an answer to your question.....but have you considered a remote controlled outlet for your needs?? could be handy in times like this.

how big is the drain line to the basement...1" or 1.5"?? this will dictate how much water can flow to the sump

1.25 actually. And yes. I have considered adding a switch up stairs but instead added a valve into the tank so I can turn it off or just down low, go downstairs and crank up the pump and then walk back and slowly open it until it can't handle. The return line is now full blast and doing much better as far as bubbles go.
