Overflow box help

Original overflow box was kinda loud and when I got the tank the tank lfs removed a bit of the frame because it would not fit. Tank been fine.

The new weer is longer and I would have to drumle more of the frame and it very close to the center braces and makes me nervous.

Should I do it or go back to the old one?

I would go back to the old one and get a lid for it if you don't have one already.

Yes I have a lid for it. One of the surgery reef ones.
