Im going to be setting up a tank in my bedroom and its going to be more or less a zoas tank with a few fish.

My question is I have a stand and canopy and lights for a 29 gallon foot print(30x12), and I was thinking of using a 40 tall.

The overflow box I have is set up with two 3/4" drains, will that be two much for a tank of this size? If so I could cap off one of them(it was built with 2)

There are unions on the drain pipes so the holes are really small in the area where the unions are.

Need some input please

Thanks

Rich

There is really no such thing as too much when it comes to drains. More drains give you back up if one was to clog. They also allow you to put more flow through the system. I don't even use drains less than 1" in systems I build. For tanks over 60 gallons I will often use 1.5" or even 2" drains.

I would use both of your 3/4" drains.
