Anyone ever remove a overflow box? I have a older Lee Mar 90 gallon cube i would like to put back in use. I had for quite some time , just don't like the corner overflow box. My plans would be to remove overflow and install Synergy Shadow overflow & cap bulk heads on drilled holes on bottom of tank. Opinions? Ideas on ways of removing box?

I assume it's attached with only silicone and that you can cut it out with a razor blade, but pics would help.

Yeah you can cut the silicone and remove.
You should make sure the back glass to be drilled isn’t tempered before you do anything

I've removed a few of those stock RR monstrosities in my time. It's really just patience and elbow grease. Single edge razors usually do the trick, though one of those thin PVC cable saws can be quite helpful. Just be very careful when you get down to the actual tank seam/seal to make sure you don't damage it. People always seem to say that silicone does not adhere well to plastic. Once you have wrestled the overflow out you may decide that that is BS :D:D

Good stuff. ^
Will add that yes silicone dies not adhere well to acrylic, but this type works best

And with the shape of overflow and the positive pressure of water higher on one side of overflow it works fine.
