Wow, this looks nice! I've got to redo my 155-gallon bow front and while I was at it, I'm going to drill it. I was going to get the Synergy Reef Shadow overflow, but the reviews on BRS have me a little nervous. Speaking of nervous, I am planning on drilling the tank this week before it gets much colder where I'm at.

Have you installed this on your tank yet, and if you have, how are you liking it?

Let us know how it goes in terms of noise and flow!
@h8edpurdie I have the synergy ghost overflow and there is only a slight trickle that I haven't tuned out yet which I think is due to my main drain not being long enough in the box. I sit about 10 feet away from my tank when watching TV and even with the slight noise I don't hear it. Currently running about 700gph through mine with 1" plumbing. @MasterAlgaeGrower also has one and is completely silent so I know mine is user error :)

I've got one of those... the 12" version by Modular Marine. I have to say, the acrylic work is very nice and feels very sturdy. I have yet to install it though. I'm a bit apprehensive about drilling through 1/2" glass... just gotta bite the bullet andget it over with.

go slow and have lots of water ready! :)

I havent installed yet. I dont have the tank to put it on yet. I squeezed this out of my budget and working on saving up for a 120 aqeuon aquarium. Im just impressed with the build quality on this thing.

Haha I hear you there. I'm going through 3/4". I'm going to see if any of my smaller tanks are tempered or not and if not, practice on those first.

Sound wasn't an issue for me. Even while running an over the tank style, I could barely hear the water. Just got scarry wondering if the siphon was ever going to fail during one of our numerous power outages during the winter months. I don't want to worry anymore and want to drill it so it's done right!

the Siphon on the synergy? I've got a ball and gate valve on my secondary and main drains respectively, closed both, and tested the emergency and it worked flawlessly. Restarting the siphon takes a minute or so to purge all the air but I have not yet had an issue getting it to go.

No I meant the siphon on an over the tank style overflow.
