So during this quarantine I’ve had a decent amount of time & thought I’d finally get my tank setup. Just recently got the 90 rimless drilled. Got some PVC parts but thought they looked unpleasant on the back. I want to plumb the overflow with braided vinyl tubing. I have a hard time with plumbing and don’t want to go through another cycle of buying the wrong parts so I was wondering what exact parts I would need in order to do this. (Like how to connect the vinyl tubing to the drain, what kind of ball/gate valve to get, etc) The overflow I have is an Eshopps Eclipse M. Really want to get my tank setup but plumbing is setting me back ); I have everything else ready to go

Saw that thread earlier but didn’t really help me, thanks though

Does anyone know how I’d go about attaching the vinyl tubing to the overflow drain? Would I be able to just glue tubing in or do I need an adapter of some sort and if so which? Only thing I need to figure out

Vinyl tubing normally goes over a nipple. You can't glue it. If you want something flexible I would go with flexible PVC.

Pretty sure this would work, no?

1" PIPE ADAPTER SPIGOT X BARB

The Eshopps Eclipse M has 1” drain holes
I could attach the adapter linked above to the drain holes & then attach 1” vinyl tubing to adapter

Someone please confirm that this is fine

that's what I was thinking.
I know you said you didn't like the pvc look, but wondering did you see the colored pvc on BRS? you could get black to match the overflow box. just a thought.

Pretty set on the soft plumbing but yea that would definitely look better than regular pvc. Gonna go ahead and order the adapter and hope for the best

If you have a 1" peace of pvc you can get 1.25" running and for it right over the pvc.

I would only use the vinyl tubing if you're going to use durso drains. This way you don't need a bunch of connections and a gate valve hanging on the tubing.

Am I fine using this gate valve with the vinyl tubing?

The barb adapter should definitely fit into my Eshopps Eclipse M right? That’s my last worry before placing the order
