Hey everyone, I did some research (quite a bit) and decided to go with a sump for my first reef build. I am looking for recommendations for an overflow that will not take up too much real-estate in my tank, leaving more room for swim space and scape space. I am also looking for the calculation to get how many GPH I need, I know I can control it with a gatevalve. The sump will be made from a 10 gallon I have laying around.

This overflow has been awesome on my 30. You do need two holes drilled however.

For whatever design reason...the return flow fluctuates a bit adding some randomization that creates a slight wave pattern in the aquarium.
