Question for the masters. I am setting up my new tank soon and it is a reef ready tank. I just saw an episode on BRS tv knocking the Duroso overflow. Do you think I should set up my reef ready drillEd corner overflow 75 gallon cube with 2 drains in my overflow 1” & 3/4” and drill 2 x 3/4” Returns in the back of my tank. Thanks in advance.

I converted my Durso-designed 75g system to a Herbie design. I didn't drill my tank though...I just created an over the rim return line. It was a good decision...dead quiet system.

Thanks for the info guys. I am definitely going to do the hernia. I will drill the tank for returns. Not sure if I will drill 1 or 2 returns. Might do 2 and run 2 pumps for redundancy.

Has anyone had problem with their herbie not starting back up with a power outage. I heard it won’t get a siphon going. Thanks in advance

I have a dual herbie on my 180 with the return over the back. I have never had an issue with it starting back up after power loss or just shutting down for cleaning.
