I got my sump running with no leaks. The tank is not drilled so I had to use a HOB overflow box. It is quite noisy with the water draining out. Is that normal or did I do something wrong?

That's normal-l have a HOB on my tank too! What l did was take a sponge for mechanical Filtration, put it over the drain section on my HOB and it acts as a muffler.

Would it be possible to build a Dursley drain tube in your HOB overflow. In my experience this seems to be an effective way to quitedown noisy drains. I have aven drilled and tapped a 1/4” hole in the top of the Durso...threaded a John Quest fitting in with a piece of ro/do tubing and regulated air to the drain which is another way to quite the Drain noise down.....

Diy stockman standpipe. Not dead silent but better than durso
