I'm looking at a tank to buy this week and was curious about my overflow options as it is pre drilled. I will grab measurements when I get eyes on it. I think my only option would be coast to coast which is fine but not sure on interior exterior. Also, anyone have any ideas on where to get one built or if I need someone locally to build and install? Any other comments via the pics are also welcome. Thank you!

Probably not ideal but you could run a ghost overflow with the center two holes where your drain pipes are on the exterior portion of tank and utilize the other four for returns?? I’m trying to understand why there’s six holes drilled in the back glass? I can see where you’re thinking about doing a coast to coast. I suppose that would work also. Do you happen to know how previous owner had it set up?

I'm trying to find out. Was bought but never set up situation

If I had to guess, I'd say it was drilled for three separate overflow boxes, with a return and a drain for each. Do you have a center to center measurement on each set?

Kind of an odd layout, are they evenly spaced in sets of twos?

Was it made for a coast 2 coast overflow?

I'm going to look at it later today after work and will grab measurements. If I have 60-72" from hole to hole I may see if modular marine can custom make one.

That's an odd combo but I'm sure you could figure out something.

I know I would...lol

All 6 are the same diameter? I'm thinking the same as @Dburr1014 with two overflows outside and two return inside. However, with them all the same height you'd probably have to use check valves on the returns.

Internal weirs at the two corners, bulkheads to external overflow boxes, either Herbie or bean animal overflows to the sump.

Large return lines to the center with each reduced to Y loc lines to direct flow where you want.

Multiple powerheads, maybe a gyre or two, lots of lights rocks, and corals.
