Setting up a new tank 72x24, not sure if I am going with 30 inch or 24 inch for height yet, but I was thinking about setting it up with 20" Synergy Reef Overflow.

I need something that really silent, and this looks like what I want, but wanted to get others thought as well before I place my final order with LFS.

Thanks

I am open to other options as well. If I were to have 3 holes drilled for bean animal, what does the LFS put inside of the tank?

I'm building a 125g with a esshopps rs300 sump under it...
I just bought a 16in Synergy Shadow overflow box... should be drilling my overflow and return holes in the next 2 wks... tank is 72x18x24

I have a Modular Marine 24" overflow rated for 2400 gph ( very similar to a Synergy) that I couldn't use on a tank. I would be willing to sell if your interested.

Have two tanks running the synergy overflow. 120 and 70 and once you fine tune the gate valve on the primary drain line it's very quiet. Nice product!

I have the synergy shadow overflow on a 75 gallon. It is super quiet and easy to dial in. Highly recommend it.

I agree on the synergy overflows. I run a 16 "on the 75 & a 20" on the 180. Little pricey but well worth it ! the hum from the return & skimmer make more noise .

Thanks all for the advise, for those that have the synergy overflows, do I only need one gate valve? The reason I ask is my tank is going to be up against a wall, so I won't have a lot of room.

before you make a choice look in to modular marine I think there worth looking in to i like that fact that the tank side and back box are even so if power goes out it will not drain some tank water.

I dont have one yet but really thinking about it for a 40BR seahorse build.
