What's everybody using to prevent their RO reservoir from overflowing? Seems like your standard float valve isn't recommended anymore. I've seen post about solenoids, but having a hard time understanding the overall setup.

Why are float valves not recommended anymore?

I use a float valve on my 44g brute can and have never had any issues with it since it was installed about 3 years ago.

I use a float valve as a backup to my RODI Guardian. It's never failed on me, though. Feels like a well spent $70.

I use solenoids with float switches but there is also a mechanical float valve. I a currenently use 110 volt soleniods but have plans to switch them out to 24 volt latching soleniods.

The RODI Guardian looks nice. Unfortunately, I need a vertically mounting sensor. My storage tank is stiff with the side walls rounded.

What solenoids for you using? How many is needed per reservoir?

Does this rely on an Apex?

No. It uses a high-low tank controller and a delay relay.
