I recently purchased an SC Aquarium tank, 150 Gallon, the glass and silicone is fantastic. The only drawback is the small overflow and 1/2 inch return line. My plan is to run my return lines over the back of the tank and use the 1 inch drain for the main overflow and the half inch line as an emergency backup. I would like to run this using the Herbie method, but I feel like I remember reading somewhere that it takes a lot of water to get a full siphon on a 1 inch drain....is this true or am I imagining something?

My return will be a one inch line split into two 3/4 inch lines to Loc Line all powered by a vertex V6 return pump at about 5 foot of head pressure.

Thanks in advance.

I honestly think you will be fine . U must have been a member of the Deep Blue Dimension Club. That is definitely one greedy over flow box . I want to say it took almost 6 gallon before it started draining into the sump .
