Overflow question

Please feel free to chime in on this. I'm building a new system that will be about 300 gallons. The main display is a 210 gallon (72x24x30) and this is where my dilemma is.
1. I'm going to be installing and external overflow. I'm not sure if I should go with a Ghost overflow 16" rated at 1500 GPH or 20" rated for 2500 GPH. Flow in the tank will be provided by x3 MP40's.

2. The tank was set up as a peninsula before. I'm removing the overflow and was planning to use 3/8" glass and silicone to cover holes and seal. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
 
I will first suggest that you drill the tank instead of using an external overflow because it is much more reliable and just overall better. That being said, if drilling the tank is not an option, the amount of flow needed in an overflow is completely dependent on the flow rate of the return pump. If your return pump does 1200 GPH the 16" 1500 GPH overflow would suffice. But because of your large quantity of water (210 gallon display) i would suggest using the 20" overflow rated for 2500 GPH and tune your return pump to 2100 GPH this will give your overflow room for error and circulate your tanks water 10 times per hour giving you very adequate filtration. I would suggest 2 of these rated at 1200 each for a total of 2400 gph I love mine quite. H 20 over flow.

I will be using an internal overflow with drilled glass. I was kind of thinking the same thing as far as flow rate. I plan to use a Dart snapper gold pump. to power the entire system. Its rated at 3600 GPH. It will be powering the display, two frag tanks and three reactors.

You can drill 3 h20s and get 3600 gph
 
Don't need a external box it flows straight to the fuge. Google h20 overflow and you get it.
 
I know their is lot that say you need 10x fuge but I disagree I run about 7x but I over skim and I have chaeto to fast won't get nutrients out. But I don't do water changes either so most people will disagree but I've never had bad algae and that's been my method for 35 yrs.
