I just purchased a used 120g (new build thread and videos to come!).

They installed an Eshoppes medium overflow on it. I see that size is rated for 100g tanks at max of 800gph.

The large version is up to 150g at 1000gph.

Should I upgrade to the large? If so, I would need to drill a second hole, which would make the overflow not centered, but that’s not a huge concern.

Is it worth upgrading? Any risks with drilling that second hole on this 3 year old tank?

800 gph is plenty of turnover through the sump, so I wouldn't mess with it.

However, if you really want to run a Bean instead of a Herbie drain, you will need the extra hole in the tank and 3 holes in the overflow.
