I’m sure this sort of question has been asked a million times so I do apologise in advance but I’m currently in the process of designing a nano aio peninsula tank I have purchased a controllable pump with flow from 300lph to 1200 lph so need to ideally match that The tank is only going to hold 25 litres which means I won’t be using the full output of the pump but would be good should I remove any rock etc and need to turn it up

Question is what size of dimensions should I be looking at to design an overflow vent or would I be better going traditional and using teeth?

I did find somewhere that a 1” (25.4mm)pipe would drain 600gph (roughly 2200lph) so my thinking was a vent style drain 1”x4 inches long may be enough for my needs…Iv never done this before so again I apologise but any advise would be appreciated cheers

Iv been swaying more to the comb design to be honest, can anyone recommend any sort of dimensions?
If possible how they came to said dimensions I’d be interested in knowing how to calculate this for future reference

All sorted now, I figured out. Simple… Rectangular weir calculator. Already designed and printed 420gph max flow should cover it :)
